BaS LIFT serves one of the largest and most diverse communities within the national LIFT programme. While its initial focus was on developing buildings to support improved primary care provision, its success in bringing partners together has made it a powerful vehicle for integrating healthcare facilities with wider public services, from those delivered by local authorities to social and community care providers.

Working in partnership with its long term private sector development and investment partner, Prime plc, it also provides a broad range of bespoke consultancy services to assist clients in driving productivity, meeting clinical aims and achieving efficiencies through innovation.

Since its inception in 2004, BaS LIFT has invested c. £190 million in 15 new buildings across the communities it serves, acting as a catalyst for wider regeneration. It has also provided project management services for a further ten capital projects which have been funded by the public sector.

At the forefront of innovation and excellence, BaS LIFT has delivered a number of project firsts, from Birmingham’s first combined health and council facility in Sparkbrook, to the new £50 million Birmingham Dental Hospital and School of Dentistry. Opened in 2016, this will be the first integrated, stand-alone new dental hospital and dental school in the UK for almost 40 years.
