To provide a report on the options for relocation of the long term conditions management, orthopaedic triage clinics and staff from the Partners in Health service, previously provided from a centre in the Bordesley Green area.

Solution
Seven existing health centres within the locality were assessed for their location, suitability, functionality, condition, spare capacity and utilisation. A report detailing these assessments and the medium and long terms options for relocation was compiled.

Challenges
Tight timescale – multiple researchers were required simultaneously to carry out space utilisation audits. Specific knowledge of commissioning strategy was needed to take account of each centre’s future plans and how these would impact on any recommendations made. Access to rooms was sometimes problematic and required a sensitive approach.
