Birmingham Community Assessment and Treatment Service Unit

The proposed development, which includes 16 en suite bedrooms, three communal lounges and two dining areas, will provide medical assessment and treatment for Birmingham adults over the age of 19 who have learning disabilities and who require short-term assessment and treatment for complex health issues.

The proposed new facility would be built off Yardley Green Road adjacent to the Yardley Green Health Centre and pharmacy. Patients using the facility may have a range of learning disabilities, such as Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. The new centre will improve the level of care for these patients and their families as it will enable Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust to provide a vulnerable group of patients with high quality care that better meets their particular needs.
